Clothing Styles for Your Newborn Photo Shoot

When choosing what to wear for your newborn baby’s photo shoot be it in my private studio in St. Augustine FL or in an outdoor location in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Nocatee, or Palm Coast, it is important that you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing.  My premier studio offers full use of my studio wardrobe which includes boy’s and girl’s clothes for ages 0 to 8 and also gowns for mothers.  The clothing I offer are simple, timeless, and above all else: comfortable!  It is important your clothing is comfortable and fits well, so be sure to try on your wardrobe choices for this photo shoot beforehand.  Most of my newborn baby sessions take place in my studio so you don’t have to worry about weather or natural elements like getting your dress caught on rocks.  I make sure that my studio has boutique and hand made gowns that fit all different body types and that can be adjusted to fit your body perfectly.  I go over clothing decisions in personal consultations before every newborn session and suggest that people choose their clothing to coordinate but not necessarily match.  This means that all the colors go well together but each member looks unique.  I also suggest that clothing is solid colored so that the focus is on your face and that if you love jewelry that you choose one or two major pieces so your accessories don’t overwhelm our photos or your newborn.  I encourage you to choose a color scheme from my board on Pinterest that you can choose colors from and feel confident that everything will flow.  I also encourage moms to wear something they feel beautiful in because it reflects with your photos with your baby.  For men I recommend a simple, solid colored button up with no stripes (stripes create an issue called moire).  I also recommend that moms wear a dress or one of my gowns because the flowy-ness can be flattering and comfortable after just giving birth to a beautiful baby!

I work closely with you before your photo session to make sure you feel great about what you want to wear and that I create a life style setting or choose a certain colored backdrop in my studio that will compliment your family’s clothing choices.  This ensures your photos will be timeless and enjoyed for countless years in the future!
