Do You Need To Be In Photos?
Your family photo session is here… and you don’t want to be in the photos. Let me tell you, you are NOT alone! I have been a maternity, baby, and family photographer serving the Jacksonville FL area for over 6 years and one of the first things parents will ask me is if they “have” to be in the photos… and the answer is an enthusiastic YES! You have to. I’ll tell you why: these photos are definitely created for you to enjoy, but at the end of the day they are really for your children. We are documenting this moment in time for your kids to look back on and remember how much love you gave them, how much fun you guys had together. Soon your kids will be older, the toys will be replaced with homework and then eventually they will be driving their own car and you’ll be waving goodbye to them as they start their next phase of life. And when that happens I will tell you without a doubt that when they look back at their photos from when they were kids they won’t care about what you look like, they will care that you are IN the photos. That’s right, they won’t care about your hair. They won’t care about your weight. They won’t even care about what you’re wearing. They will care that you are standing there right next to them. Period. So yes, these photos are for you and I will make sure that you look AMAZING (don’t you worry about that!), but these photos will be invaluable to your children when they are adults and want to remember you as you were: full of life, love, and their #1 fan. Ok, now before I start getting all teary I’m going to go take a picture with my kids because like you I am so so guilty of not jumping into enough photos with them!!
