Jacksonville Baby Photo Question Answered

When should I do my baby’s photo shoot?? This is a great question and one I get ALL the time!  My newborn photoshoots are usually done in my St. Augustine private studio, so we can be flexible on the time of day, but I always recommend 10 am because it gives you enough time as new parents to get out the door and enough time for us to spend 2-3 hours together without getting too hungry for lunch (although I have some AWESOME restaurants for you to get take out from right by my studio location!).  As for how old your baby should be when they come to see me is a little more involved that what you might think.  Every parent’s hope is that their baby is born around 38-40 weeks nice and healthy, if this is your baby’s story than I recommend messaging me right after you welcome your sweet bundle of joy and schedule a newborn session when your baby is between 5-12 days old so they are nice and sleepy for their photo debut.  Sometimes a baby will decide that they are ready to meet the world early and need to spend some time snuggling with you and their awesome nurses in the NICU for a few weeks.  In this case we schedule your newborn appointment as soon as possible after you bring them home.  What can happen if your baby is already 3 weeks old or has spent an extended period of time in the NICU, are photos still possible?  YES! Definitely!  Baby photos are ALWAYS possible and will be the most important photo shoot you ever do, so make sure you do them!  The only thing that changes if you baby is older is that they may be more alert during their photo shoot and it could be more “life style” based rather than unwrapped “posed” photos on a blanket backdrop.  There is nothing to worry about if you end up having newborn photos done later than 12 days based on your baby’s needs; your photos will be beautiful, precious, and priceless.  You will treasure these moments forever, contact me today to start discussing how we can make your baby’s photo shoot special and stress-free!

Let’s talk soon,

Amanda
